I'm Emmy (the artist)
I'm Emmy (full name Emilea) 32, libra. I specialize in creative portraiture and my favorite medium is oil. Live painting is one of my unique skills and I can create a finished piece in 1-4 hours in many styles and sizes. I am a chill yet chaotic artist. I think you can't create without a little bit of pressure and I love to push myself to try new styles. I love the way paint feels, smells, and looks. When I'm painting, nothing else matters. I love the fact that you can capture a person's essence on a canvas forever. I am both a commission artist and an original artist. I can bring your idea to life, or I can give you what is inside of my brain. I even do it live at parties!
I also put on art shows to show new styles I am challenging myself with. I curate all my own shows because I believe you don't need to wait for anyone else to recognize your talent or worth before you get your work out there. My Mission
I've loved art ever since I can remember. Beauty and emotion are languages that can sometimes only be captured through art. I love so many mediums but paint is what brings me to life. Painting is messy and beautiful and imperfect, even unpredictable. It's familiar to me because all of these describe life. It's always been the way that I celebrate, cope, and remember, to paint. I love just letting go and creating but I also love to bring to life the creativity inside of others, and use my hands to create the vision in your head.
I aim to capture and create beauty in the world, make people feel, bring people together and touch hearts and souls through artistic creations. In the age of AI generated everything, I believe that true, handmade art by a human is still unbeatable. True art is meaningful and captures the essence of a living thing, which requires humanity. To be a human is to be imperfect, to be emotional, and to love.
Whether it is sharing in a special occasion with live painting, painting a loved one who has passed, or just expressing my emotions through painting, I hope you'll let me share my love with you through my paintings.
I am based in Indiana, though I have and still do travel around the US both to deliver paintings and for live event painting. I am an artist in many forms, modeling when I was younger, working for the last 13 years professionally as a makeup artist and the last 7 as a photographer. However, painting feels like my true calling. I did not go to art school, I actually attended Paul Mitchell Cosmetology school as well as graduating online from Purdue Global with a bachelors of business admin with a focus in marketing.
How did I get here? I used to love art growing up, I was drawing people and animals since I was 3 or 4 just constantly. I was homeschooled most of my life took a few art classes as a kid and in high school when I attended a small school, but left it behind when life came. When the world shut down in 2020, I took at as my chance to practice painting 8 hours most days. I played with ink, graphite pencils, charcoal, colored pencils, acrylic, watercolor, and goauche, but my truest love is oil paint. For the last 5 years, it's been non-stop grinding and hard work to become a professional artist, but here we are, baby! It's not the lifestyle of the rich and famous, but there's nothing else I would rather do with my life.
